This achievement follows the successful creation of Shifter Cables, Shifter-Cable Bushings, Shifter-Base Bushings, and the Clutch Master Cylinder Upgrade, leaving the shifter as the final component to receive Hybrid Racing's innovative touch. The mission was clear: to achieve superior performance and reliability.

Embarking on a comprehensive redesign, countless hours were invested in designing, engineering, and testing, leading to a significant overhaul of the original 06-11 Civic shifter assembly. The result is a refreshed and acclaimed short shifter assembly, reflecting Hybrid Racing's commitment to their customers.

The design process began with thorough research, including engaging with 8th Gen Civic owners and analyzing the pros and cons of existing shifters. Leveraging previous design experience, Hybrid Racing focused on achieving unparalleled adjustability, allowing each driver to tailor the shifter to their preferences. The outcome is a durable, versatile, and affordable short shifter, striking the perfect balance between high-end racing performance and cost-efficiency.

Constructed from TIG welded, powder-coated 1000 Series steel, the shifter's frame is robust and sleek. The upper and lower rocker assemblies, now crafted from single pieces of Aerospace aluminum and anodized in Dust-Gold, incorporate custom sealed ball bearings to minimize friction. The V2 shifter is 60% smoother and lighter than its predecessor, facilitating effortless gear changes. Precise adjustments to shift throw are made possible with threaded cable attachment pins, accompanied by wear-resistant Delrin pivot caps for quiet operation. The new design also includes dual, zinc-plated extension springs, offering improved centering action and a more direct feel compared to the OEM torsion centering spring.

Independent adjustments for front/back and left/right throw are available, with significant throw reduction percentages for both early and later models of the 8th Gen Civic Si. Additionally, a sought-after feature by many Civic owners – shift knob height adjustment – is now a reality. The simple single-bolt height adjustment design, inspired by Hybrid Racing's k-swap shifters, allows for a 1.5″ range in height with just a 5mm Allen wrench.

This short shifter assembly is designed to work seamlessly without the need for base bushings, compatible with OEM and Hybrid Racing's performance cables. It suits both the base model R18 and the Si's K20 platforms, offering an unparalleled shifting experience for all 8th Gen Honda Civic models.
