Presenting the Hondata Modified RSX TYPE-S ECU: This ECU is specially tuned by Hondata for 2002-2004 RSX TYPE-S models and comes with an adapter harness for compatibility with 2005-2006 Acura RSX vehicles. Hondata's expertise lies in making hardware adjustments to the 2002-2004 ECU to ensure seamless operation with the distinct sensors and actuators found in the 2005-2006 ECU. It's important to note that after these modifications, the ECU will no longer function correctly on a 2002-2004 RSX. Hondata exclusively offers the adapter harness along with the modified ECU.

Please be aware that an unmodified 2002-2004 ECU with an adapter harness (with or without KPro) will not function on a 2005-2006 RSX without the internal ECU modifications performed by Hondata. The 05-06 K-Pro is specifically certified for use in 05/06 RSX models. Engine swaps utilizing an 05-06 RSX engine and gearbox in a different chassis are not supported with the 05/06 K-Pro and adapter harness.

To ensure compatibility, you must use a primary oxygen sensor from the 02-04 RSX or 02-05 Civic Si; the 05-06 RSX O2 sensor will not work. Additionally, some sensors need to be disabled to eliminate ECU-generated errors. Note that the speed sensor in the 05/06 RSX gearbox operates significantly faster than in the 02-04 RSX, potentially affecting cruise control above 65-70 MPH.

What is the K-Pro ECU? The K-Pro ECU is a specially modified 2002 to 2004 Honda ECU with a USB interface for seamless connection to a Windows-based notebook PC. It is currently available for the standard shift Acura RSX base model and Type-S, the US Civic Si, and the Euro Civic Type R.
